01: Introduction
Under UK law, employees have rights not to be unfairly, constructively or wrongfully dismissed, provided that they meet the eligibility conditions attached to the rights. They also have the right to redundancy pay if dismissed for redundancy, again provided that they meet the eligibility conditions (see below). The rights can be enforced in the tribunals and (in some cases) in the courts. Employees can pursue claims for reinstatement or compensation/damages in situations where a dismissal has occurred in breach of the legal rules.Last Updated
